Moot Courts in Criminal Law

On May 2015, Moot courts were held in criminal Law. Process was divided into two parts: qualifying rounds and final rounds. On the first stage five independent trials were proceeded. Participants were assigned to prepare same case and hold trials. Opposing teams were led by prosecutors: Nana Rafava, Nino Tsatsiashvili, Soso Saltkhutsishvili, Imeda Gugushvili and by Professor Irakli Kobidze from the University of Georgia. Participants were undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Georgia. Teams of Nino Tsatsiashvili and Soso Saltkhutsishvili met in finals. The jury selected the winning team, which included Chair of Institute - Professor Bachana Jishkariani, Professor Tamar Ebralidze, Iza Kelenjeridze and George Dgebuadze. Soso Saltkhutsishvili’s team won the moot court competition. The team members were given a cup and bookstore "novela’s" 50 GEL vouchers. Georgian, German and International Criminal Law Institute will offer many exciting projects in the future.
