A joint project - Spring School “Criminal Law and Human Rights” of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the Institute of Georgian, German and International Criminal Law, was held in Telavi, Hotel Zuzumbo on 1-3 March 2024. The project discussed the urgent issues of Criminal Law, such as: The scope of State Intervention in Personal Liberty, Influences of European law on Georgian criminal law, Criminal law vs Human rights, Challenges in Georgian criminal Law Procedure, Stalking as a Crime, Sexual Offences – Challenges in Practice, Sexual offences in German Criminal Law, Protection of animals in German criminal law, Access to Juvenile Justice, the Results Achieved and Challenges. The lectures were led by the head of the school: Prof. Dr. Bachana Jishkariani, LL.M. (Munich) and invited lecturers: Prof. Mario Schuetze (Coordinator of the German-Georgian master's program) and Nino Tsatsiashvili (Prosecutor's Office of Georgia). Law students from different universities of Georgia (University of Georgia, Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Eastern European University, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Gori State Teaching University, Sokhumi State University, International Black Sea University, Caucasus's International University and Georgian National University SEU) participated in the project.
